Caramulo Motorfestival

Show / Festival

The Caramulo Motorfestival is Portugal’s largest motoring festival, held every September in the scenic Serra do Caramulo. Organized by the Museu do Caramulo and the Automóvel Club de Portugal, this event blends motorsport excitement with cultural heritage. Its main highlight is the Michelin Historical Hill Climb, where rare and legendary vehicles race uphill through winding mountain roads. Alongside the action, the festival hosts a range of attractions including classic car parades, a historic rally, an Automobilia Fair, off-road experiences, and a dynamic air show. For gaming enthusiasts, there are driving simulators, while families can enjoy kids' tracks, play zones, live music, bars, and even glamping options.

Beyond the racing, the Caramulo Motorfestival invites visitors to explore the cultural richness of the area. The Museu do Caramulo features a remarkable collection of classic cars, motorcycles, and vintage bicycles. The surrounding region offers beautiful hiking and cycling routes, as well as spa-town charm that adds to the festival's appeal. Drawing over 40,000 attendees each year, the event also features guest star drivers, aircraft flyovers, and exclusive vehicle showcases. Whether you're a hardcore gearhead or just looking for a vibrant weekend in nature, the Caramulo Motorfestival offers something for everyone.
