The International St. Moritz Automobile Week 2026 was scheduled to take place on January 30–31, moving three weeks earlier than usual to better align with the global winter motoring calendar. This elegant alpine event, centered around The I.C.E. St. Moritz, was set to once again bring together a stunning collection of classic and rare automobiles for dynamic ice-driving displays and a Concours d'Élégance on the frozen Lake St. Moritz. The earlier timing aimed to enhance logistics and accommodate growing international interest following the record-setting 2025 edition.
However, the 2026 event was ultimately cancelled due to extreme weather conditions. More than 60 cm of snow fell within just 16 hours, severely impacting ice quality and creating safety risks for both vehicles and visitors. Despite thorough preparations and close coordination with local authorities, organizers made the difficult decision to prioritize safety and call off the event. While disappointing for classic car fans, the cancellation highlighted the organizers’ commitment to safety and respect for nature’s unpredictability. Enthusiasts now look ahead to the next edition with renewed anticipation.
